When I started Clearwater 2 years ago (almost to the day I write this!), truthfully I hadn’t the faintest idea of how to manage the backend of the business. Because I was so busy running the day-to-day, I kept brushing off streamlining the process.
Then the business started growing and it became harder to manage all the projects with no real process in place. So about 6 months ago, I started doing free trials for ALL of the management softwares out there. Some were designed specifically for creatives, some for entrepreneurs in general. But I never reallllly found something that worked for me. Until Honeybook. Read More
I’ve always said that I’m not the most creative person. Art in high school was not my area of expertise. Starting Clearwater, I knew that I needed to up my creative game, so I’ve been looking for bite-size ways to make that happen. Read More
When I'm feeling comfortable in my own skin, this is me. Big smiles and laughing til my stomach hurts. When i’m struggling though, I find myself curling into my little turtle shell. Even seemingly simple interactions with others turn into a challenge. Some days it can be a struggle to get out of bed. Some days it can be a struggle to leave the house. That's 100% okay. Read More
Well, even though last week wore me down, it was also extremely rewarding. The Living Room Series had its first mini series event in Vancouver for 2018. What is the Living Room Series you ask? It's inspired by 18th century French salons where a cross-section of society would gather to discuss ideas and share their passion for music and arts. In the peak of the digital age, it's so easy to get got up in the online world. We aim to bring back the days where substantive ideas are discussed in person and where music and art are expressed in its purest form without the cacophony of background noise. Read More
Oh 2017, you have certainly been a doozie. We've been through some changes, we've been a part of a whole lot of pretty, and I like to think that we've done a little bit of good.
First and foremost, I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. I feel so grateful to have the capacity to do what I love, and that's because of each and every one of you. Some of you have been with me since the thought of Clearwater was a little seedling, and some of you are newer. Either way, I'm so appreciative to have you on this journey with me. Thank you for believing in me and for supporting me in #alloftheways. Read More
Back in January of 2016, I had the privilege of being one of the Featured Presenters at the UBC Student Leadership Conference: my first real attempt at a longer presentation in front of a large crowd.
I’ve always been very open about my story and eager to share my pearls of wisdom with the community, but this was an experience like no other.
As 2017 winds down and we look ahead to 2018, I thought it would be fitting to share the 5 key takeaways. Read More
